After graduation I pursued working in social media, living and working in Italy as a social media manager freelancer. I mainly collaborated with a social media agency where I had the chance to participate in coming up with and execute strategies in my role as the sole social media manager for a number of their international clients. This involved me collaborating in the content creation process in numerous teams across the agency, communicating completely in Italian.

It was not unusual to work on projects across several different teams and autonomously in the same day to meet tight deadlines, and I proved to be highly adaptable to this often high-pressure environment. I grew the Facebook page of my main account by 370% during the collaboration. Other freelance collaborations during my time in Italy included video projects where I helped with various stages of the video production process.

At the end of 2017, I decided to pivot my social media work completely towards video. I had worked on my video production skills for a number of years through informal video collaborations and on my own YouTube channel, which now attracts more than 18,000 monthly views. Today I work as a video freelancer, helping my clients in many stages of video production; from production management, to script editing, to video strategy. This has included on-location and studio shooting. For the majority of my projects I concentrate on the filming and editing stages and I have excellent proficiency in Premiere Pro and Photoshop. I also use After Effects and Audition on most of my projects.

Having worked as a freelancer since graduation, I have a lot of experience in using my initiative to spot opportunities for successful content. I was involved in building a ten-month social media strategy for my principle client in Italy, and even conceptualised the social media strategy for event coverage. I am used to following through on concepts like this in tight-deadline, high-pressure environments. While freelancing in Belgium, I was asked by one client to manage and organise a video shoot. The client challenged me to start work on the project with zero budget and secure five interviewees, equipment and manage all production coordination with the videographer and studio within four working days, all of which I managed to deliver successfully.
